Macomb County Family Wants Answers After Dog Is Shot, Killed: Report

A Chesterfield Township family​ is heartbroken and looking for answers after their dog was shot and killed, according to a report.

CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI — A Chesterfield Township family is heartbroken and looking for answers after their 2-year-old husky-pit bull mix was shot dead near their Chesterfield Township home, according to a WXYZ report.

Chelsea Young told the outlet she was doing some last minute shopping Saturday morning when her husband called her and told her he found Stella covered in blood and dying on their back porch.

"My husband called me and said that 'Stella’s home, somebody has shot her and she is dying on our back porch,'" Young told WXYZ. "I never want anybody to feel what I felt in that moment."

Police confirmed to WXYZ Stella had been shot with a handgun. Young said the bullet pierced through both of Stella's lungs, causing her to bleed out.

The Chesterfield Township Police Department is investigating the shooting and asked anyone with information to contact them at 1-586-949-2322.
