Macomb County Woman Tries Hiring Inmate To Kill Her Husband: Prosecutor
Prosecutors said the plot took place during a phone call inside the Macomb County Jail.

MOUNT CLEMENS, MI — A pair from Macomb County is facing charges in connection with a murder for hire plot, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
Aaron Muterspaw, 36, of Warren, was charged with conspiracy to commit homicide and malicious use of a telecommunication service. He was charged as a habitual second offender. He remains in jail on a $500,000 bond.
Carmen Marchetti, 35, Chesterfield Township, was charged with solicitation of murder, conspiracy to commit homicide and malicious use of a telecommunication service. She was placed in jail on a $100,000 bond.

While Muterspaw was in the Macomb County Jail from May 1, 2023 through September 26, 2023 after pleading guilty in a drunk driving case, Marchetti asked him to have her soon-to-be ex-husband killed through phone calls, according to the prosecutor's office.
Muterspaw acknowledged her request and said he would facilitate the murder for her, according to the prosecutor's office.

"In orchestrating this alleged plot, the two defendants displayed a callous disregard for human life and the rule of law. Their actions serve as a reminder of the grave danger posed by individuals willing to resort to violence," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
