"We rode the storm out through Haiti and we turned around and came home and responded to our soil right here," Steinle said of the early November trip to the East Coast.

In New York, he worked at Poured Out's distribution sites in Queens and Rockville Centre for several days. There, he and other volunteers spent long hours redistributing non-perishable food, water, clothes, blankets, electric heaters and more.
