He said firefighters arrived on the scene around 10:30 a.m. and put the fire out in about an hour. Marinucci said it took longer because it was difficult to access the area due to hills, swamp area and a stream.
Marinucci said they believe the fire was started by a pit fire, but they have not confirmed this.

He said that the fire burned mostly brush and a few trees. Though he said the fire did not do any lasting damage.
"It will probably grow back greener than it was," he said.
Although brush fires are not common in Northville Township, Marinucci said they have had some in the past few years due to dryness.
