According to city police reports, an argument occurred on March 7 over a poker game. What is unclear is who instigated it and why.
The man who reported the fight told police the other man appeared drunk and agitated, according to the report. He said that when he told the other man to calm down, he threw poker chips at him and punched him in the face.

The man's poker chips appeared to have been picked up and stolen by bystanders, according to the report.
A witness told police that the man who reported the incident instigated the fight.

Man reports being the victim of scam
A city of Northville resident reported to city police on March 9 that he was the victim of a check scam.
The man told police that a woman replied to his ad for an apartment rental in East Lansing. The woman sent him what appeared to be a certified check for more than $2000 over the asked amount. She asked that the man send her the overage amount via Western Union, which he did, according to the police report.
Later, he learned that the woman's check was fraudulent and could not be cashed by his bank.
Counterfeit money found at Northville Downs
The owner of Northville Downs reported to city police that on March 11 a man used a counterfeit $50 bill and was still in the building.
When police arrived, according to the report, the man told them that he received the bill from lottery winnings at a Pittsfield Township gas station.
Teens found with marijuana
Two Northville teens were arrested on March 9 near Cameron and Dewar streets in Northville Township, when police say they found marijuana in the SUV they were in.
When police approached the car, they found it filled with marijuana smoke, according to the report. The two admitted to police that they had smoked some and had more in the car, according to the report.
They were arrested and charged with possessing marijuana. They were released on $300 bails each are due to appear in the 35th District Court later this month.
Seven Mile trespassers caught
Three men were cited for trespassing on the Seven Mile property, the former psychiatric hospital, on March 7.
The three, ages 19 and 20, were seen on the rooftop and were pushing a utility cart when approached by police, according to the township police report.
