Man, 27, Killed In 3-Car Crash In Metro Detroit: Police

Officials were still trying to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, MI — A 27-year-old man was killed in a three-car crash Monday night in Macomb County, according to police.

The crash happened at 8:06 p.m. Monday on Metropolitan Parkway, just east of Groesbeck Highway in Clinton Township, according to police.

Investigators believe a black 2010 Ford Transit Connect van and a green 2019 Ford Mustang were stopped at a turnaround traffic light when a 2019 Ram ProMaster 3500 van smashed into the back of the Mustang.

The impact of the crash pushed the Mustang into the transit van, according to police.

The driver of the transit van got out of the vehicle to check on the other two drivers and noticed the 27-year-old Ann Arbor man in the Mustang was unresponsive, according to police.

He was taken to McLaren Hospital where he died, according to police.

The driver and a passenger of the Ram ProMaster left the scene before officers arrived, according to police.

Investigators later found them and they were also taken to McLaren Hospital for medical treatment, according to police.

Officials were still trying to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
