Firefighters, Businesses Hand Out Treats for Halloween in Northville
Cold trick-or-treaters were thankful for the warm treats at the city fire department, which has been handing out goodies on Halloween since the 1960s.
Northville celebrated Halloween with warm treats, skeletons and — of course — candy.
Hundreds filled the streets of downtown Northville Wednesday night with their costumes and candy buckets. Firefighters and volunteers at the city of Northville Fire Department passed out apple cider, donuts and fresh popcorn to the long lines of people waiting in the cold.
Fire Chief Jim Allen said they had been passing out goodies on Halloween since 1965 or 1966.
