Man Arrested on Charges of Never Getting a Driver's License

The following arrest information was supplied by the Northville Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Northville Township police arrested a man at 11:59 p.m. March 29 near the intersection of Haggerty and Eight Mile roads on charges of never acquiring an operator's license, according to a police report.

The responding officer saw a blue 2003 Dodge Neon traveling northbound on Haggerty Road, south of Eight Mile Road, with its driver’s side headlight out, the report said.

The officer stopped the driver, who identified himself with an ID card from Mexico, according to the report. The man said he did not have a driver's license and has never had an ID or driver's license from any state, the report said.

He said he was in Michigan doing hotel renovations with Marriott and was staying temporarily in Farmington Hills, according to the report.

The man was arrested and his vehicle was impounded, the report said. He was issued a citation for never acquiring an operator's license and for the headlight violation, the report said. He has an 8:30 a.m. hearing April 17 at 35th District Court.
