• Detroit trio arrested in region-wide counterfeiting ring (freep.com subscription) — Northville Township police helped crack a southeast Michigan counterfeiting ring that was flooding local businesses with fake $100 bills. Working with Canton and Plymouth Township detectives plus the U.S. Secret Service, investigators traced the operation to a Detroit home, where three men were arrested and charged with serious counterfeiting and firearm-related felonies.
