Planet Fitness Completes $700,000 Remodeling of Northville Club

Planet Fitness, the nation’s leading franchise of low-price/high-value gyms, announced the completion of extensive remodeling of its Northville club. 

“This is a very special club because it was the first Planet Fitness to open in the Detroit area,” said Chris Klebba, owner of the Northville club and seven other Planet Fitness clubs in Michigan, in a news release. “Our members have been fantastic throughout the re-modeling process, and we’re all looking forward to this grand re-opening."

Northville's Planet Fitness at 235 E. Main Street, open since 2006, has undergone renovations and equipment upgrades over the past year. After renovations by Frericks Construction and once open, the Northville gym will be one of the most state-of-the art gyms in the area.

New amenities include:

• new hydro massage tables and chairs
• four new high performance tanning beds
• over $400,000 of new cardio and strength equipment
• updated locker rooms and restrooms
• over 20 new large screen TVs in cardio room
• newly remodeled relaxation zone
• new high performance fans
• in total over $700,000 in total improvements

To celebrate completion of the remodeling, the Northville club is hosting a grand re-opening event Monday that is open to the public, including a special appearance by Buddy Shuh, star of the show Biggest Loser.

The 16,000 square-foot Planet Fitness is located on Main Street in Northville and is open 24-hours a day, five days a week and 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. on weekends. The club features an extensive selection of cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, arc trainers, and stationary bikes. Every cardio machine is connected to an entertainment system consisting of multiple widescreen HD televisions. In addition, free fitness instruction is included with all memberships.  A certified fitness trainer is on staff weekdays to assist members with workout programs at no additional charge.
