Annual Advanced Battery Trade Show Comes to Novi This Week

The Battery Show at Novi's Suburban Collection Showplace is a showcase of the latest advanced battery technology for the global battery industry. 

New at the show this year, from Tuesday to Thursday, is cooperation with the Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo, which will be at the Suburban Collection Showplace at the same time.

"On behalf of the City of Novi, it is my honor to welcome the Battery Show, the Charging Infrastructure Conference, and Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo to Novi, Michigan," said Novi Mayor Bob Gatt in a news release. "These three events emulate the ever-changing times in which we live, and are devoted to demonstrating state-of-art vehicle technology right here in the automotive capital of the world."

Michigan is home to 17 advanced battery companies and is expected to make 20 percent of the world's lithium-ion batteries by 2015, the release said.

Technical leaders, scientists, engineers, buyers and senior executives concerned with advanced energy storage will attend The Battery Show this week. They will present the latest advanced battery solutions for:

• electric and hybrid vehicles
• utility and renewable energy support
• portable electronics
• medical technology
• military
• telecommunications

Event director Steve Bryan said the 2013 show will be the biggest and most successful yet. 

"With the launch of Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo alongside The Battery Show, the exhibit hall will feature well in excess of 300 exhibitors and thousands of attendees seeking out the latest power solutions," he said in the release.

The expo features electric and hybrid vehicle technology and innovation and is also free to attend. Automotive and off-highway vehicle engineers, business leaders, technical experts will attend the expo. 

The free exhibition visitors passes for both events include access to The Battery Show, the Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo, the Charging Infrastructure Conference and a networking reception.
