The following information was supplied by the Novi Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

Novi police were dispatched to a gas station on West Pontiac Trail and Beck Road at 3:45 a.m. on March 10 on a report of a car there that looked like it had been in an accident, according to a police report. Police found the car with three shattered windows, a caved in roof and hood, and the windshield shattered and caved in, the report said. According to the police report, the police asked the driver to stop the car and then asked the driver what happened and he said, “What do you mean?”  The officer pointed to the damage, and the man said he got into an accident on South Hill Road and Maple Road in Milford and probably rolled his vehicle, the report said.

The police asked him how much he had to drink that night, and the man said two beers, the report said.  The officer asked the man to take a breathalyzer test, and his blood-alcohol level was 0.141, which is above Michigan’s legal driving limit of 0.08. The man was then arrested on charges of operating while intoxicated.

Milford Police were later able to locate the scene of the accident and said they wished to take the driver into custody for leaving the scene of the accident, the report said. The driver said he thought the accident occurred on a curved part of the roadway and he wasn’t paying attention and didn’t make the turn, the report said. The man said he was happy to hear that the Milford Police had found his missing shoe, the report said.
