Crime Report: Man Stabbed; Woman Robbed in Bar

A 19-year-old male from Whitmore Lake was arrested on charges of felonious assault after police say he stabbed a man on Feb. 24 at 2 a.m., according to a police report. The victim of the crime, a 23-year old man from Novi, said the Whitmore male stabbed him in the arm with a small silver knife at a house on Ferhoodle, the report said.
The Novi man said he had been staying at that house with his former girlfriend up until that day and was in the process of being evicted, the report said. The man said he knew she had called the man from Whitmore Lake to come over and was uncomfortable with it because he knew he had stabbed someone in the past, the report said.
The Novi man came to the residence to speak to the woman, who asked him to wait outside for a few minutes, the report said. The Novi man said he had a baseball bat with him for protection due to his fear of the other man, the report said. The Novi man said he got tired of waiting at the front door, dropped the bat, and went inside, the report said. The man said that when he came in, the Whitmore Lake man took a swing at him, and the Novi man put him in a headlock, the report said. According to the man’s testimony in the police report, the Whitmore Lake man then stabbed him in the arm with a small silver knife.

The Whitmore Lake man told police that the Novi man attacked him for no reason and he was able to get away and run outside, the report said. According to his testimony, he denied stabbing the man.
Woman robbed in bar
A woman reported that she was attacked and robbed at in Novi on Feb. 25 at 2 a.m., according to a police report. According to the police report, the woman said she and her friends were on the upper level of the bar, and somehow a drink spilled on another group that was standing on the lower level of the bar. The other women blamed the robbed woman for spilling the drink, the report said.

When the woman came downstairs around closing time, she was approached by one of the other women, who asked her what her problem was, the report said. The woman told police that the next thing she knew, she was being punched by several women, who then took her purse and jacket. The woman later found her jacket in the parking lot, but was unable to recover her purse with her phone and money, the report said.
