GROVELAND TOWNSHIP, MI — An intoxicated man was arrested this week after troopers found him asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle with heavy crash damage at an Oakland County gas station, according to police.
The incident happened Tuesday at a gas station in Groveland Township, according to police.
Troopers were on patrol when they decided to stop at the gas station for gas, according to police.

While there, they saw a running vehicle with "heavy front-end crash damage," according to police.
Troopers walked over to the car and found a man asleep in the driver’s seat, according to police.

After they woke up the man, police said troopers found multiple signs indicating the man was drunk. He also made "incoherent statements about his circumstances," according to police.
The man failed multiple field sobriety tests and was placed in the Oakland County Jail on suspicion of drunk driving, according to police.
Troopers also found a loaded Glock 17 pistol in the center console of the car, according to police.
The case was turned over to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office for further review.
