Gen Z on the Move

Gen Z on the Move, a virtual summit hosted in partnership by Gen-Up MI, Interniac, and Vote16MI, aims to celebrate the work of Generation Z all whilst preparing and mobilizing attendees for the future. By listening and learning from industry professionals, Gen Z will be able to take a step forward in leading within their fields of interest. Through workshops, panels, and discussions, Gen Z on the Move will give participants a firsthand look into career preparation, internships, and networking tools.

Participants of Gen Z on the Move will have the ability to participate in a wide range of panels depending on their interests and career goals. Planned panels include discussions on communication, STEM, politics, and marketing. Gen Z on the Move will also feature several workshops where participants will be able to learn from industry professionals and receive career guidance. Michigan State University Federal Credit Union will host “Financial Literacy,” Blue Future will host “Resume Building,” and Midwest Advocacy Coalition will host “Intro to Issue Advocacy and Lobbying.” Other workshops planned include “Intro to the Healthcare Field in College” by My Digi Doc, “Intro to 3D Modeling” led by Yash Vardhan, and “Intro to Direct Action” with information from Generation Ratify Michigan.

To allow Gen Z to learn, listen, and lead with professionals, participants can attend whichever workshops and panels that interest them between 9 am and 9 pm on August 7 and 8. Industry professionals that Gen Z on the Move attendees will have the opportunity to hear from include Tenita Johnson — the founder and CEO of So It Is Written, LLC, Adrienne Pickett — founder of The Guerrilla Politic, Matthew Berard — candidate for Rochester Hills City Council, and Ashwani Jain — candidate for Maryland Governor.
