Man Fatally Shot Outside Oakland County Restaurant: Sheriff

Investigators did not say what led to the shooting.

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, MI — A Howell man was shot and killed outside an Oakland County restaurant Sunday night, according to sheriff's office.

The shooting happened at 9:38 p.m. Sunday outside the Prime 7 restaurant, located at 8635 Cooley Lake Road in Commerce Township, officials said.

Officers found 44-year-old Francesk Shkambi lying on a patio outside the restaurant suffering from a gunshot wound, officials said.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, officials said.

Officials said the suspected shooter, a 65-year-old Farmington Hills man, turned himself into police roughly 20 minutes after the shooting.

He was placed in jail while charges were pending.

Officers also found a 9mm handgun, which they believe was used in the shooting, officials said.
