Man In Stolen Van Tased By Oakland County Deputies After Chase: Police
Police said the 47-year-old man crashed a van stolen near a Novi Home Depot after he broke into one home and tried to break into another.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — A 47-year-old man is in custody after Oakland County deputies tased him and took him into custody after police said he went on a crime spree on Monday morning.
The man, who has not been identified by police, was being sought after the sheriff’s department said he stole a van from the parking lot of a Novi Home Depot store and then broke into a house in Lyon Township before attempting to break into another home in Milford.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said that Milford police saw the van and then alerted other agencies who joined the pursuit of the van, police said. The van crashed near Kensington Road and I-96 in Lyon Township, where the man was tased and taken into custody, police said.

The suspect was not injured, police said.
The initial home break-in took place shortly after 9 a.m. on Monday but the man was scared off by the homeowner, police said. The man then attempted to break into the second residence before leading police on a brief chase before crashing the van.
