Motor City Soccer Opens In Novi

NOVI, MI — Soccer is big business in Novi. At least that’s what recently opened Motor City Soccer is counting on.

Located at Grand River Avenue and Wixom Road, it will the company’s four location in metropolitan Detroit. If Motor City Soccer doesn’t sound familiar, it’s because the shops had previously known as Soccer Plus.

"We wanted a store that reflected Detroit's industrial heritage,” said Pat Callaway, owner of, Soccer Plus and Motor City Soccer. “We have re-branded this location as Motor City Soccer with the plan to rename all our locations in the coming year. With an urban theme including polished concrete floors, a pipe fixture shoe wall, and repurposed wood from an old set of bleachers, the new store reflects Detroit’s manufacturing history.”

Soccer Plus/Motor City Soccer has been in business for more than 20 years and provides a wide variety of soccer merchandise and services. Soccer equipment, apparel and accessories from every major manufacturer including Nike, adidas, Puma, Uhlsport, New Balance, Under Armour, and more are offered.

"We are pleased to be opening a new location, which will allow us to better serve the needs of athletes in this community," said Callaway.

Located at 48975 Grand River, Motor City Soccer is easily accessible from I-96 and centrally located between Total Soccer in Novi and Total Sports in Wixom/ Motor City Soccer plans on servicing athletes from Novi, Northville, Wixom, Walled Lake and South Lyon.
