Police Arrest Man at Novi Park on Charges of Marijuana Possession

Novi police arrested a man 9 p.m. Oct. 1 on charges of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a Novi police report.

Someone told police about a suspicious car parked in the lot of Lakeshore Park, 601 South Lake Drive, after hours, the report said. An officer found two men parked near the back of the park and could smell marijuana while approaching the vehicle, the report said.

The men said they stopped in the park to look for directions, according to the report. When asked about marijuana inside the vehicle, they said they smoked it all, the report said.

The officer searched the vehicle and found two marijuana pipes, a grinder and a bag with 2.6 grams of marijuana, according to the report. One man admitted that it was all his, the report said.  The officer arrested him. He posted a $100 bond and has a hearing Oct. 14.
