Novi Police Arrest Woman on DUI Charges

Police arrested a Washington Township woman around 1 a.m. Nov. 25 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.
An officer observed a Mercedes-Benz driving westbound in the eastbound lanes on Twelve Mile near Meadowbrook Road. The officer stopped the driver and smelled intoxicants from inside the vehicle, and noticed that the woman’s eyes were watery and glassy, the report said.
The woman said she was not from the area and was unaware she was driving in the wrong lanes. She told police that she was coming from a wedding in West Bloomfield and that she was trying to find her friend’s home, the report said.Â

The woman was arrested by police who said her blood-alcohol level was .095 percent, above the state's legal limit of .08.
She posted a $100 cash bond and has a hearing Dec. 9 at 52nd District Court.
