Standard Time Has Begun

Did you remember to "Fall back?" Daylight Saving Time ended at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Did you remember to turn your clock back? Daylight Saving Time ended for 2017 at 2 a.m. Sunday morning and will not return until March 11, 2018.

It’s good news for students, most of whom will not be going to the bus stop in the dark. The downside, of course, it will be dark an hour sooner, meaning less time for kids to play outside after school.

The practice of β€œspringing forward” and β€œfalling back” began during World War 1 as a means of conserving energy. Daylight Saving Times was then used sporadically until Congress passed the Uniform Time Act of 1966.
