What's Happening in Novi This Week: Jan. 9-15

Here's a guide to everything you need to know about Novi this week:

Community events

• Novi City Council meets Monday at 7 p.m. in .
• Want to nominate your business for an award? Monday at 5 p.m. is the deadline through the Novi Chamber of Commerce for an annual business award.
• Auditions to act in the Novi Civic Theatre's performance of The Music Man are Monday and Wednesday from 7-9 p.m.
• Registration opens Tuesday for residents wishing to rent out park shelters this spring.
• The Friends of the has a board meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the library. The public is welcome to attend.
• Radio host will speak about home appliances at the library at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Novi Community Schools weekly sports schedule

Monday

Varsity bowling takes on Salem High School at Super Bowl at 3:30 p.m.

The 7th Grade Boys White team plays Meads Mill away at 4 p.m., while the 7th Grade Green team plays Holmes Middle School at Novi Middle School.

The 8th Grade Boys White team plays Meads Mill away at 5 p.m., while the 8th Grade Green team plays Holmes in Novi at 5 p.m.

Tuesday

Boys freshmen basketball plays South Lyon in the Novi High School Fieldhouse at 5:30 p.m., while the JV team plays South Lyon in the performance gym at 5:30. The varsity team plays at 7 p.m. in the performance gym.

Girls JV basketball plays South Lyon away at 5:30 p.m., followed by the varsity team at 7 p.m.

Wednesday

The 7th Grade Boys White team plays Hillside Middle School home at 4 p.m., while the 7th Grade Green team plays Frost, also at home at 4 p.m.

The 8th Grade Boys White team plays Hillside in Novi at 5 p.m., while the 8th Grade Green team plays Frost at home at 5 p.m.

The high school varsity wrestling team takes on Salem High School, South Lyon East and Livonia Stevenson in the Novi Fieldhouse starting at 6 p.m.

Thursday

Varsity bowling competes against Grand Blanc High School away at 4 p.m.

The boys and girls ski teams both compete against Hartland at Alpine Valley at 4 p.m.

Middle school co-ed swim & dive takes on Hillside Middle School at Northville High School at 4 p.m.

Novi High School boys swim & dive faces Northville High School away at 6:30 p.m.

Friday

All of the high school basketball teams play our rivals, Northville High School, in games Friday.

The girls play at Northville High School with freshmen at 4 p.m., JV at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.

Boys play in Novi with freshmen in the Fieldhouse at 5:30 p.m., JV in the performance gym at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7 p.m.

Saturday

High school boys swim & dive heads to Lakeland High School for an invitational at 9 a.m.

Varsity wrestling has a tournament at South Lyon High School starting at 9 a.m. and a tournament at Holly High School starting at 9:15 p.m.

Girls varsity and JV cheer have an invitational at Brighton High School.

Varsity bowling plays Plymouth High School at Super Bowl, with the time to be determined.

Catholic Central High School weekly sports schedule

Tuesday

The freshmen basketball team takes on De La Salle High School at home at 4:30 p.m., followed by the JV team at 6 p.m. and the varsity team at 7:30 p.m.

The varsity ski team competes against Howell at Mt. Brighton at 5 p.m.

Wednesday

The varsity White wrestling team takes on Brother Rice and De La Salle at home at 5 p.m.

Varsity hockey takes on De La Salle away at 7:45 p.m.
 

Thursday

The JV White hockey team takes on Birmingham at Arctic Pond at 4 p.m.

The JV ski team competes against Birmingham United at Mt. Brighton at 4:45 p.m., followed by the varsity team at 6 p.m.

The swim team competes against Livonia Stevenson away at 6:30 p.m.

Friday

The JV and varsity bowling teams take on Divine Child at Sterling Lanes at 3:30 p.m.

Freshmen basketball plays UofD away at 4:30 p.m., followed by the JV team at 6 p.m. and the varsity team at 7:30 p.m.

JV Blue hockey plays Cranbrook away at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity team at 7:15 p.m.

Saturday

The freshmen/JV wrestling team competes in a tournament at Garden City starting at 9:30 a.m.

The varsity Blue and White wrestling teams have Super Duals at home at 10 a.m.

The varsity bowling team competes in the Plymouth Tournament at Super Bowl at 1 p.m.

JV White hockey plays Eisenhower at home at 3:30 p.m., while JV Blue faces Cranbrook at home at 5 p.m. and varsity plays Cranbrook at 7 p.m.

Sunday

The JV White hockey team plays De La Salle at home at 5 p.m.
