1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Oakland County 3-Car Head-On Crash: Sheriff

Investigators do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash.

ORION TOWNSHIP, MI — A Macomb County man was killed and another man was injured in a head-on crash Thursday in Oakland County, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

The crash happened at 5:02 p.m. Thursday on Dutton Road near Bald Mountain Road in Orion Township, according to police.

A 63-year-old Richmond man was driving a 2024 Kia Forte east on Dutton Road where he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado that was moving west, according to police.

After striking the Silverado, the Kia then struck a 2018 GMC Yukon, according to police.

The Richmond man was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries, according to police.

The 25-year-old Orion Township resident, who was driving the Silverado, was also taken to a nearby hospital and listed in stable condition, according to police.

The driver of the Yukon, a 43-year-old Rochester man, was not injured in the crash, according to police.

The drivers in each vehicle were wearing seat belts, according to police.

Investigators do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash, which officials were still investigating.
