Giving Tuesday is a global movement that encourages people to give back to their communities, typically through charitable donations, volunteer work or acts of kindness. It takes place annually on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving in the U.S., right after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. While it's celebrated widely, the real impact happens when we do good right at home by supporting local businesses, causes and organizations working to uplift our own communities.

Oxford/Orion FISH Food Pantry
Oxford/Orion FISH Food Pantry serves neighbors in need from Oxford, Lake Orion, Addison and Oakland Township by providing groceries based on family size. The pantry offers various ways to get involved, including volunteering, donating and participating in their Adopt-a-Shelf program. Volunteers tasks include stocking shelves, sorting food, checking expiration dates, assisting during food drives and supporting clients in the pantry office.

Provide Inc.
Provide Inc. was established in 2008 with a mission to offer individuals and families the chance to make a difference both locally and globally through short-term, high-impact service programs. Unlike many organizations, Provide Inc. focuses on a broad range of causes and facilitates opportunities to participate in diverse hands-on projects. Volunteers and monetary donations are always welcome to support their mission.

Lake Orion Sunrise Rotary Club
The Lake Orion Sunrise Rotary Club is a welcoming community that combines coffee, friendship and a commitment to service. The club meets every Thursday at 7:30 a.m. and fosters fellowship and connection while working to address community needs. Members are encouraged to serve on committees, participate in projects and suggest ideas for new initiatives.

Camp Oakland
Camp Oakland has provided therapeutic care to severely at-risk youth referred by the Juvenile Justice System for over 70 years. Spanning 160 acres, the camp offers a range of evidence-based emotional and psychological healing programs tailored to the individual needs of youth affected by neglect, abuse or other trauma. Volunteers have opportunities to contribute through various activities, from helping with campus maintenance to sharing hobbies or assisting at events.

Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA)
Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency (OLHSA) is dedicated to assisting residents of Oakland and Livingston Counties in overcoming the challenges of poverty. OLHSA provides personalized, wrap-around support to individuals and families in need and served 9,355 people in 2023. If you’re interested in making a difference in your community, OLHSA offers a variety of volunteer opportunities throughout the organization tailored to your abilities and interests.
