Orion Township Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash: Sheriff
Police believe speed may have played a role in the crash.
OXFORD TOWNSHIP, MI — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday in an Oxford Township crash, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
Jimmie Allen Haggadone, 66, of Orion Township, was riding a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle south on North Lapeer Road toward a flashing yellow signal at West Oakwood Road around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, according to the sheriff's office.
At roughly the same time, a 54-year-old Farmington Hills man was driving a 2012 Toyota Corolla east on West Oakwood Road and stopped for a flashing red signal at North Lapeer Road, according to the sheriff's office.

The Corolla then turned right onto southbound North Lapeer Road, into the path of the motorcycle, causing the crash, according to the sheriff's office.
Haggadone was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in the median of the road, according to the sheriff's office.

Haggadone was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, according to the sheriff's office.
The driver of the Corolla was also taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
Police do not know if Haggadone was wearing a helmet.
