$2 Chicken Shawarmas At Plymouth's Simply Fresh

PLYMOUTH, MI — Mark Thursday, June 22 on your calendar Plymouth residents. That’s the day Simply Fresh Mediterranean Grill is celebrating its second anniversary by serving $2 chicken shawarmas. The restaurant is located at 838 Penniman Avenue in downtown Plymouth.

While the special will run all day, there is a limit of one per person. Special or not, Simply Fresh is a hit with the review website Yelp. The eatery has garnered 70 reviews since opening and has an overall rating of four-out-of-five stars.

“Tried this place for the first time today. The kale & quinoa salad was amazing!,” wrote Ann M. of Sterling Heights in a June 9 review. She gave the restaurant five stars. “Kale, cucumbers, tomatoes & red onions with quinoa sprinkled throughout all tossed in their incredibly fresh lemon & olive oil dressing. I added grilled chicken. Even comes with a side of garlic! - be aware of parking especially if you're stopping by on a lunch break, it gets pretty busy. The line was out the door when I left but it was moving pretty quickly. I will definitely be back!”

Simply Fresh serves a full line of sandwiches, salads, platters and even has a kids menu. Pita sandwiches include chicken kabob, gyro and falafel and range from $5-$6.

Salad offerings include fatoush, tabouli and greek, among others. Prices are either $5 or $6 for medium size and $8 for large salads. Platters like chicken kifta and beef kabob range up to $13.50 and include two side items plus pita bread. All kids menu items are $5 and selections include a chicken and rice bowl, grilled cheese and chicken tenders.

“A nice little hole in the wall in downtown Plymouth and a great option if you are craving Mediterranean in the area,” wrote Tim K. of Canton in an April 7 review. He gave Simply Fresh four-out-of-five stars. “I got the chicken shwarma with tabouli salad and I felt like the portions were just right to keep me full for lunch. The price is fair at 5.50 for a shwarma or add 4 to make it a combo. As for the taste, the chicken was cooked perfectly and flavorful just as the tabouli was.”
