2 University Of Michigan Gymnasts Help U.S. Earn Bronze Again
Two University of Michigan-Ann Arbor men's gymnasts helped team USA capture its first Olympic medal in 16 years.

ANN ARBOR, MI — Two University of Michigan-Ann Arbor men's gymnasts helped team USA capture its first Olympic medal in 16 years.
Michigan's Frederick Richard and Paul Juda competed in four events to help the team win the bronze medal, its first medal since a bronze-medal finish in 2008 and its fifth overall. Team USA finished fifth in 2012, 2016 and 2020.
The other three members who contributed to team USA's bronze medal include, Asher Hong, Brody Malone and pommel horse specialist Stephen Nedoroscik.

Richard led the way, earning scores on floor (14.466), still rings (14.033), horizontal bar (14.833) and parallel bars (14.566). Juda added high scores of 14.200 on the floor exercise, 13.900 on the pommel horse and 13.366 on the horizontal bar.
Other high scores included a 14.866 for Nedoroscik on the pommel horse and 14.833 for Hong on the vault, and a monster routine for Richard on the high bar.

Japan claimed gold with a score of 259.594, while China took silver with a score of 257.793 and Team USA finished with a score of 257.793.
