Abandoned Metro Detroit Asylum Now Has Drive-Thru Christmas Light Show
The temporary attraction, called MI Bright Lights, began last week and will run from from 5-10 p.m. daily through Jan. 5.

WESTLAND, MI — A popular metro Detroit Halloween attraction has now been transformed into a Christmas light show for the holiday season.
Eloise, located at 30712 Michigan Avenue in Westland, now has hundreds of thousands of lights that are synchronized to holiday music in the parking lot.
The temporary attraction, called MI Bright Lights, began last week and will run from 5-10 p.m. daily through Jan. 5. Tickets are $20 per car. For more information, and to purchase tickets, visit mibrightlights.com.

The drive-thru light show features nearly a mile of holiday lights, along with an ice skating rink (opening Dec. 6), a zip line, an inflatable mini golf course, an interactive North Pole mailbox, s’mores, hot cocoa and a walk-through Santa Land where kids can take photos with Santa.
There will also be a holiday drone show at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, featuring 200 drones. That show is free with admission.

The new attraction is co-produced by the Bostick Family, who are known for putting on a yearly Christmas light show that's choreographed to music at their home in Garden City.
"We used to have thousands of cars at our house every night, and the traffic just became unmanageable. So we knew had to have bigger venue," Kyle Bostick told WXYZ.
At one point, the psychiatric hospital was one of the largest psychiatric facilities in the nation, with a campus of more than 70 buildings, 2,000 staff and 10,000 patients. It closed in 1982, after most of the complex’s 75 buildings were destroyed by the mid-80s.
