Art In The Park 2017: Parking, Shuttle, Traffic Info

Art In the Park is one of Plymouth's biggest events.

PLYMOUTH, MI — Maneuvering in and around Plymouth’s Art In the Park will be a little tricky. Parking is also going to cost folks that don’t want to walk a long distance to downtown. Michigan second largest art show — which will feature more than 400 artists — starts Friday and runs through Sunday.

Plymouth officials said several road closures will go into effect starting Thursday. Some temporary parking restrictions will also be put into place during the event. The following roads are expected to be closed in Downtown Plymouth from approximately Thursday at 7 p.m. through Sunday at 9:00 p.m:

  • Main Street - From Church Street to Wing Street - Access along Main Street from Church Street to Fralick Street will be available throughout the weekend to have access to Westborn Market, Schrader Funeral Home and other businesses on Fralick.
  • Penniman Avenue - From Harvey Street to Union Street.
  • Ann Arbor Trail - From Harvey Street to Union Street/Deer Street.
  • Forrest Avenue - From Ann Arbor Trail to Wing Street.

In terms of Art in the Park parking, $5 will be charged at the Central Parking Deck on Harvey Street. Discounted passes for $3 are available at the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce. Each pass can be used only once to get into the parking deck.

Parking will also cost $5 in the lot behind the Penn Theatre, as well as the Saxton’s lot on Ann Arbor Trail at Union. Most, if not all, private lots will also be charging $5 as fundraisers for various organizations.
A shuttle service will also be available. It starts at the Burroughs factory located at the corner of Plymouth and Haggerty roads. A round trip shuttle ride is $3 for adults and kids 12-years-old and younger ride for free.

The shuttles will be operating continuously between Burroughs and Plymouth city hall. Shuttle Hours are:

  • Friday: 10:30 am to 8:30 pm
  • Saturday: 9:30 am to 7:30 pm
  • Sunday: 9:30 am to 5:30 pm
