Flossie Tonda Visits Her Namesake Elementary School

Tonda Elementary School fifth-graders had a special guest during their farewell celebration Wednesday - Flossie Tonda herself. 

This was Tonda's first visit to the school in many years.

The 87-year-old told fifth-graders how happy she was to be able to visit and offered words of wisdom as they head to middle school in the fall. 

Tonda was a Plymouth-Canton school board member in the 70s and 80s and served as the president of the Wayne County Association of School Boards. Tonda Elementary opened in 1994.
