Livonia Spree 2017: Info, Schedule Of Featured Events
The 67th annual Livonia Spree starts on June 20.

METRO DETROIT, MI — One of the area’s best fireworks shows will come on June 25 to conclude the annual Livonia Spree. The show will start at dusk — approximately 10:15 — and run for about 30 minutes. As grand as the fireworks show is, it’s far from the event’s lone highlight.
Now in its 67th year, the Livonia Spree offers a wide variety of activities for visitors of all ages. Midway games, carnival rides, a petting farm and many different food choices are among the attractions to the Spree. The Spree runs June 20-25 this year. Ford Field, located at the corner of Lyndon Street and Farmington Road, will once again host the Spree.
Billy Sims BBQ and Rainbow Ice are just a few of the the food offerings. On The Border Mexican Grill and Cantina is also returning. The restaurant will bring classics like tacos, quesadillas, loaded nachos and loaded burritos. But Spree-goers will also be able to satisfy their sweet tooth with sopapillas, a type of Mexican doughnut.

"Deep fry them, toss them in cinnamon sugar. Give them honey or chocolate," Brian Smith, general manager of the Westland location, told the Livonia Observer. "They've been a mainstay with On The Border for a long time."
