Man Arrested In UM Campus Stabbing: Police

A man has been arrested in connection with a Thursday night stabbing on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, police said.

ANN ARBOR, MI — A man has been arrested in connection with a Thursday night stabbing on the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, according to police.

The stabbing happened at 6:20 p.m. near Catherine Street and Zina Pitcher Place in Ann Arbor, according to police.

Officials with the University of Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security issued a campus alert and identified 33-year-old Lagarien Thomas as the suspect. At 11:34 p.m., officers arrested Thomas and said there is no threat to the campus at this time.

Police said Thomas tried to enter the construction site at the D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion. Once Thomas was denied entry, he assaulted another person, police said.

Police did not release information about the victims' condition.
