Metro Detroit Weather Forecast: Saturday Rain Leads To Sunny Sunday
The Fourth of July holiday weekend will get off to a wet start, but recover in time for a beautiful Sunday.
METRO DETROIT, MI — The Fourth of July holiday weekend is going to get off to a wet start. According to the National Weather Service, there’s a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms Friday with showers getting heavier after 2 a.m. Saturday morning.
That rain has a good chance of continuing throughout the day Saturday. The good news is, clear skies will likely follow and lead to a beautiful day Sunday. Here’s a closer look at the metro Detroit weather forecast:
Friday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2 am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 8am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. West wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 64. West wind 5 to 9 mph.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. West wind 6 to 11 mph. Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64.
