Metro Detroit Weekend Weather Forecast: Some Sun, Some Rain

The forecast for this weekend in Metro Detroit is a mixed bag, according to the National Weather Service.

METRO DETROIT, MI — After a mostly dry week, metro Detroit’s weekend weather forecast has some rain mixed in with sunshine. The National Weather Service says the rain will start in the early morning hours of Saturday, but should be just about done by 9 a.m.

As for Friday evening, expect partly sunny skies with lows falling to about 61 degrees. If you’re planning golf or another outside activity this weekend, Saturday is definitely the day to do it. Here’s a closer look at the weekend forecast:

Friday Night:Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. Light and variable wind.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. Light and variable wind becoming south around 6 mph in the afternoon. Saturday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 64. South wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. West southwest wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Sunday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

The start of the workweek will be cooler. The National Weather Service calling for a mostly sunny Monday with a high near 71 degrees.
