Michigan Football Opens 2024 Season With Prime-Time Game: What To Know
The Michigan Wolverines will open its national title defense under the lights at the Big House.
ANN ARBOR, MI — The Michigan Wolverines football team will open its national title defense under the lights at the Big House.
The Wolverines will start the 2024 season against the Fresno State Bulldogs at Michigan Stadium on Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. on NBC, the team announced Monday.
While the Wolverines are coming off a perfect 15-0 season with a national championship win, the Bulldogs are coming off three-straight winning seasons, including a 9-4 record last season with a New Mexico Bowl victory.

Moreover, the Wolverines play one of the toughest schedules in the nation. The Wolverines will then host the defending Big 12 Champions and College Football Playoff national semifinalist the Texas Longhorns in their second game. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7 at noon on Fox.
The Wolverines' conference schedule includes home games against USC, Michigan State, and Oregon and road trips to Washington and Ohio State.
