New Salon Compliments Plymouth's Old Village
Salon Trends held its Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony last week.
Like the missing piece of a puzzle, Salon Trends, Old Village Plymouth's newest salon, fits perfectly into the business plaza on North Mill Street.
Salon Trends is located at 991 N. Mill Street, right next to JoJo's Treats n' Sweets, Simply Sue's Nail Spa as well as a massage spa.
"It's like a trifecta," Salon Trends Owner Ben Romine said. "We've created a spa, almost, in our complex. Just a little bit of everything. We felt that everybody could play off of each other, it's a good marketing tool for us."

The new business actually opened in March, but just held its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony last week.
"Like any other business, it was a whirlwind," Romine said. "The first month, first day, first everything - it was our first for everything. With the few holidays that followed, that's just the way it worked out for us."

Romine said his wife, Sara, has been a stylist for the past ten years and opening their own place has been something they've been discussing for years.
"We had a few other stylists that were interested in being part of a new salon and basically took the leap," he said. "We decided to start small and try to create a family-friendly atmosphere as opposed to - I don't want to say snooty - just someplace you feel very comfortable."
The Romines looked into purchasing an already established salon at first, but then decided it was in their best interest to start from scratch. They found the perfect location in Old Village - a previous skateboard shop and had it remodeled.
"It's almost like the perfect scenario," Romine said. "The shop is about 800 square feet - so it's very intimate."
Salon Trends has seven professional hairstylists and is a full service hair salon, offering cuts, styling, coloring and facial waxing.
