No Injuries Reported in Two Separate Canton Fires

The Canton Fire Department responded to two residential fires on Saturday.

The Canton Fire Department responded to two separate residential fires over the weekend, according to a press release.

On May 4, firefighters responded to a call on the 4100 block of Old Michigan Ave at approximately 5 a.m., according to the report.

The Fire Investigation Unit ruled the fire accidental in nature with the report stating that it started in a back room with flames spreading to two adjacent homes before it was contained.

The Canton Fire Department said that two of the three homes affected by the early morning fire suffered extensive damage but no injuries were reported.

A second fire was reported later that same day at Crystal Creek Assisted Living complex on N. Lilley Road, according to the report.

The Canton Fire Department said that the fire started in one of the residential rooms, possibly due to an electrical issue, and was quickly extinguished.

No injuries were reported and firefighters cleared the complex of smoke and other hazards, and residents were allowed back in, according to the report.
