Hello Field Families,

• Thank you for all you do to support Field Elementary, P-CCS, and your child or children in their learning.  I cannot stress enough that we are all a team in your child’s learning, growth, and safety.  I want to remind everyone that when dropping your child off in the morning you must either walk them, park in the front parking lot, or use our car loop.  It is not safe for children to walk on the side of the building where the addition is being built.  Please do not drop your child off in the front of the building and send them to walk on the side near the new construction, again this is not safe.

• As of this week Durham School Services, which provides transportation for P-CCS, is still short approximately 17 school bus drivers, including 10 general education routes and no substitutes to cover for illness or vacancies.   This is a national, state, and local issue in the industry.   Durham will do its best to cover all home-to-school and school-to-home routes, which impact P-CEP, several middle schools, and several elementary schools.   Your patience is appreciated and as soon as new bus drivers receive their full credentials,  we will revise the routing. • P-CCS will continue to use the MAP Growth test from NWEA to determine students’ current achievement levels and to measure their academic growth in Reading and Math. NWEA testing begins on Monday, September 27th- Friday, October 22nd.  Please see your child’s teachers newsletter for the specific day of testing.
