The competition, which is presented by the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association's Educational Foundation, sees students compete for a variety of scholarships. This year's event was the first in-person edition of the state finals since before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Under the direction of Hospitality and Culinary Arts Instructor Diana Woodward, the P-CEP Culinary Team took second place in the state in the closest event in the history of the competition, while the management & restaurant design team were crowned State Champions in their division. The team will now move on to the National Competition in Washington DC in May.
