Our men and women at the Plymouth-Canton Vietnam Veterans, Chapter 528, are kindly inviting our community to an old fashioned Steak BBQ on Friday, June 21st. This will be the second Steak BBQ event of the year, and they are building on the success from the last steak dinner, which was a resounding success, with lots of happy diners.

It will held be on Friday, June 21st, and will go from 5:00-7:00ish PM. This event was to be held at the Leon Suchorski Memorial BBQ & Pavilion, in the picnic area of the Plymouth VFW Post, at 1426 S Mill Street, but with the weather a little warm, dinners will be served in the air conditioned VFW Lounge.

To repeat: While you can eat your dinner under the covered pavilion if you like the warm Michigan weather, our veterans also have you covered if you want to eat in a cooler environment, and you can get your dinner served to you in the air conditioned lounge! Do NOT let the weather keep you from enjoying a great meal. Our veterans have you covered!

Last month's Steak BBQ event was wildly successful, due to the awesome steaks that Eastern Market of Canton provided, and because of the amazing BBQ skills of our grill-masters, as well as the wonderful support from our veteran's wives, and many other volunteers from the AVVA. Bottom line: Our Vietnam Veterans know how to grill meat, and grill it to perfection!

It is important to note that Marvin Jarbo, who owns Eastern Market of Canton, has generously provided the best meat in town, at a reduced price for these events, and that is the sole reason that the Steak BBQ's were able to happen, and be so successful. He has been a friend to our local veterans for many years, and they are grateful for his support.

Vietnam Veteran, Bob Dew conceived of this this event and has run it every year. He's received such great feedback from both our veterans, and our community, that he's decided to make these Steak BBQ's a yearly, event. “I loved the camaraderie among our members who worked so hard to make them successful” he said, and added, “The best thing about them though, is the community atmosphere. We love being involved with the community, and these BBQ's are a great way for folks to come on out, meet us, and see the things that we do.”

This summer's steaks are beautiful Delmonico Steaks, seasoned to perfection, and cooked exactly the way you like your steak. You'll also get a baked potato, sour cream & butter if you want it, a fabulous vegetable medley, roll/butter, and as an added bonus this month, a special homemade dessert, with your steak dinner. There will be plenty of cold beverages of any variety for sale as well.
