A City of Plymouth police officer was involved in an on-duty officer-involved shooting that took place late Sunday evening, according to a news release from Plymouth Director of Public Safety Al Cox. According to the news release, the officer had been assisting the Plymouth Township Police Department with a disturbance call. The news release did not detail the nature of the shooting or the extent of any injuries or fatalities.  The incident currently is under investigation by the Michigan State Police. A message was left Monday afternoon with Michigan State Police officials seeking information.
