Plymouth Township Cops Stop Wild House Party
An estimated crowd of 400 party-goers were out of control when Plymouth Township Police arrived.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI — A Plymouth Township teenager is likely in hot water with her parents after a house party got out of control early Saturday morning. Police were dispatched to the home on the west side of the township after receiving several phone calls from neighbors. Police estimated the crowd at about 400 when they arrived.
A Plymouth Township police report said one female party-goer was transported to St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia for treatment after she was found unconscious. No other injuries were reported. Police have not yet made any arrests or issued citations, according to a Plymouth Observer report.
Police Chief Tom Tiderington said word of the party likely spread via social media and left the 16-year-old unable to control it. Party-goers fled in all directions when police arrived shortly after 12:30 a.m, the Observer reported. The home is in the Plymouth Country Club Village subdivision, near Ann Arbor Road and Napier.

"She wasn't supposed to have a party," Tiderington told the newspaper. "A party can start out with five, 10, 20 people, but once it gets on Twitter or wherever, the house fills up quickly. Next thing you know, she can't do anything."
Other Plymouth Township family members were in California at the time of the party, the report said. Tiderington told the newspaper a family friend came to the house to take charge.

Police knocked on the door and saw party-goers peeking through the blinds, reports said. Moments later, officers turned their patrol car lights on the house and, according to the report, an estimated 300 teens fled "in all directions" through the door and windows, the Observer reported. Police found another 100 teens in the basement.
The teenager’s home was extensively damaged, police reports said. Police described the condition of home as “destroyed,” the newspaper reported.
Officers found dozens of empty liquor bottles and beer cans inside the house. The report said the smell of marijuana was so strong that police at times had to pause their investigation and go outside for fresh air, the Observer reported.
