Plymouth Township Supervisor Kurt Heise Loses Primary To Charles Curmi
Curmi, 69, will likely be elected to the supervisor's seat in November, as no Democrats are seeking the position.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI — Plymouth Township Supervisor Kurt Heise lost his re-election bid in Tuesday's Republican primary, according to unofficial results.
Residents nominated Plymouth Township Trustee Charles Curmi for the leadership role. Curmi secured 2,609 votes or 56 percent of the vote, while Heise received 1,995 votes or 43 percent, according to unofficial results.
Curmi, 69, will likely be elected to the supervisor’s seat in November, as no Democrats are seeking the position.

The change comes after several candidates voiced frustration with the direction of numerous projects in the city, such as new developments. Heise, 58, was first elected to the position in 2016.
Every Plymouth Township trustee faced primary challenge. Clerk Jerry Vorva, Treasurer Bob Doroshewitz and Trustees John Stewart and Jen Buckley secured re-election, while outsiders Mark Clinton and Sandy Groth also secured nominations, according to unofficial results.

Vorva will face Democrat Nancy Conzelman in the November election. No Democrats are seeking the treasurer position.
The four trustees will face off against Democrats Bob Miller, Angela Nolan and Michael Westra in the November election.
