Plymouth VFW Auxiliary To Host All You Can Eat Soup & Salad Dinner

It's gonna get really cold on Sunday, so the Plymouth VFW Auxiliary is hosting a great dinner event on Saturday! You don't want to miss it!

Well, we are in the dead of winter, it's been crock pot cooking season for close to a month now, and things are getting boring. There are only so many crock pot recipes that I know, and my creative juices are spent. This is where the Plymouth VFW Auxiliary comes in to help. They are hosting their annual Soup & Salad Dinner this weekend! This event will be held at the Plymouth VFW Post on Saturday, January 18th, from 5-7 PM.

I am particularly excited about this dinner event because this is the very first event that I ever
attended at the Plymouth VFW Post. I enjoyed the greatest crock pot delights, and had an absolute blast meeting all of the great people at our VFW Post. There were two solid walls of different kinds of soups and salads, and I seriously wanted to try a little of each, but just couldn't get it done. Couldn't even come close. That is the great thing about this being an annual event though, because folks can come back, and try different crock pot creations every single year.

So I'll just say this before I get to the menu. If you enjoy soup, crock pot creations, and different
varieties of homemade salads, you will enjoy this event. Not only will you enjoy some great food, but more importantly, you will get some great ideas to try out at home for the future! I won't lie, I
always steal an idea or two from this annual event, and I am not ashamed to admit it either.

So here is the deal. For $15.00 you will get a huge variety of hot soups & cold salads to choose from. It is an “All You Can Eat” utopia! Feel free to try as many as you like. There will also be some
awesome cornbread, baked by our very own Bob Brothers, who served our nation in Vietnam. The best cornbread you can ask for to eat with your meal, and Bob does it for us every single year! As always, there will be coffee and tea, as well as a cash bar for those who prefer soft drinks, or something a little stronger. Most importantly though, you will meet some of the best people around. I can't tell you how friendly and funny our local veterans are at the VFW Post. You'll
spend a lot of time laughing and smiling, I promise you that!

Now the fun part. After you have enjoyed your soup and salad, you will want to visit the dessert table, and it is something to behold! This table will be filled with a variety of homemade desserts cooked in the kitchens of VFW Auxiliary members, and they are spectacular. Beyond spectacular. I suggest walking to this table with the idea that you want to take home a few extra goodies for later. If you don't, you'll surely regret it. Additionally, for those feeling lucky, there will be basket raffles, and a 50/50 raffle as well.

This event is being coordinated for the very first time by Kati Sneath, who is the Daughter of one of our local Vietnam Veterans, and she has done a magnificent job taking on this event for our VFW Auxiliary. If you see Kati on Saturday evening, be sure to say hi, and thank her for
all of her hard work. If you see her Dad, all you have to say is “Go Blue” and you'll be friends with him for life! His name is Al Sneath, and you'll not find a better guy than him.

Proceeds for this event go to the Plymouth VFW Auxiliary, and they do amazing things for our local veterans, and that alone is a great reason for our community to come on out, enjoy some great food while supporting our local veterans. So hopefully, we'll see you all at the Plymouth
VFW Post on Saturday for some great food, and more importantly, some great company with not only our local veterans, but so many other wonderful people in our community...
