Sam's Club Slashing Victim Testifies as Canton Man Heads to Trial

A Canton man is headed to trial on assault charges stemming from a Sept. 30 knife attack at a Canton Sam's Club that left a Saline man hospitalized, according to the Canton Observer

After hearing about an hour of testimony Friday at 35th District Court in Plymouth, however, Judge James Plakas said he thinks there's more to the story, the report said.

Plakas told Harry Robinson Jr., 44, of Canton that it seems "something happened" while he was in the store with Theodore Sheets, 41, of Saline, the report said.

Robinson is being charged with assault with intent to cause great bodily harm and felonious assault, and also is charged as a habitual offender, the report said. 

Robinson is free on bond and scheduled to be arraigned in court on Nov. 2, the report said. 

During his testimony, Sheets said Robinson spit at him twice before the alleged attack, the report said.
