Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Wayne County

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Wayne County, including Plymouth and Canton.

The watch is in effect until 12 a.m. Wednesday morning. 

The NWS issued a hazardous weather statement earlier Tuesday warning that strong scattered thunderstorms were expected to develop late Tuesday afternoon and evening bringing heavy rainfall. The storms are expected to have damaging wind gusts to around 60 miles per hour. Hail around one inch in diameter is also possible.
