Special Curbside Pickup of Residential Yard Waste Planned For Plymouth And Canton Townships
Yard waste should be placed out on your regular collection day next week.
(UPDATED) PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI — Due to Wednesday’s massive windstorm, GFL Environmental will hold a special curbside pickup of residential yard waste March 13-16 in Plymouth and Canton townships. Regular collection of yard waste will not begin until Monday, April 3.
Only twigs, branches, brush, and wood debris tied with heavy twine into bundles no longer than three feet, not exceeding 1 ½ inches in diameter, and weighing less than 50 pounds will be collected. Residents will be limited to six bundles.
Yard waste should be placed out on your regular collection day next week. This special collection is only for the small debris such as twigs and branches left by the high winds. GFL will not remove large trees from resident’s property. If residents have large trees that have fallen on their property, they will need to a contact a tree removal service. If a tree located in a public easement has fallen, it is the responsibility of Wayne County. Call 1-888- ROADCREW to report a downed tree to Wayne County.

About 735,000 people in Michigan remained without power as of late Thursday afternoon from a 1.1 million peak on Wednesday. A total of approximately 800,000 DTE customers were impacted by the storm, which reached peak gusts of nearly 70 mph. Consumers Energy said about 32,000 of its customers were impacted.
