A metro Detroit woman thought she was meeting someone for a 'date,' but hooked up with an officer instead.

CANTON, MI — A 24-year-old Woodhaven woman was arrested for prostitution Thursday after she went to a Canton hotel expecting a date and instead found a police officer. Advertising herself online as a "Hawaiian bombshell," the woman and the police officer had exchanged text messages prior to the meeting, police reports said.
The woman arrived at the hotel room near Lotz Road and Michigan Avenue at about 9:15 p.m., the Canton Observer reported. She knocked on the door, walked in and gave the undercover officer a hug before the conversation turned to money. According to the report, she offered her services for $175 for a half-hour and $250 for an hour. The police officer arrested her at that point, the newspaper reported. She was issued a citation for prostitution.
