Eric Fisher on Being NFL's No. 1 Draft Choice: 'It's Hard to Process'
Stoney Creek alum goes on media blitz as top pick in 2013 NFL Draft.

Eric Fisher is making a big entrance into the national spotlight, and it isn't just from his 6-foot-7, 306-pound frame.
As the top pick Thursday in the NFL Draft, the 2009 Stoney Creek graduate, Central Michigan standout and new Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle was making the media rounds after the draft, dropping in on talk radio shows and meeting Kansas City Chiefs fans.
For Fisher, the newfound fame still is a bit difficult to fathom.

"It's hard to process right now," Fisher told ESPN Radio. "What an honor. So many people, so many great players that have been picked No. 1 and I'm hoping I can be the next one to really make a name for myself."
Fisher called the draft choice a "dream come true," telling his alma mater's student newspaper, CM Life, that had no idea he would be going to the Chiefs until he received a phone call from team officials shortly before the draft.

“I think a lot of people knew more than I did,” Fisher told CM Life. “When that phone rang, it was just so surreal. But, honestly, I had no idea I was going to Kansas City.”
On Friday, Fisher arrived in Kansas City, where he conducted TV interviews and met with his new teammates and coaches at the Chiefs' practice facility, Fox News reported.
Fisher told Fox News his priorities are helping his team win a Super Bowl and helping his mother, Heidi Langegger, enjoy retirement after 33 years working for Volkswagen.
