Oakland County Man Dies Days After He Was Hit By Pickup Truck: Sheriff

An 82-year-old man died last Friday, days after he was hit by a pickup truck in Oakland County, according to the sheriff's office.

PONTIAC, MI — An 82-year-old man died last Friday, days after he was hit by a pickup truck in Oakland County, according to the sheriff's office.

The crash happened at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 near the intersection of Walton Boulevard and Baldwin Avenue in Pontiac, officials said.

Officials said Larry Gene Howard was walking across Walton Boulevard in a designated crosswalk when he was struck by a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado.

A 68-year-old Pontiac man was driving the pickup truck was moving south on Baldwin Avenue and made a right turn onto west Walton Boulevard when he struck Howard, officials said.

Howard was taken to a nearby hospital where he died days later, officials said.

It is the sixth fatal crash involving a pedestrian in Pontiac this year, officials said.

Officials were still investigating the crash.
